Serving the community

Recently, Andy Moorman was named to the board of Generations Group in Simpsonville. If you weren’t already aware of what Generation Group is, then you’re missing out on a great foundation on a great mission.

Generations Group was founded in 1991 by Kathleen Reynolds, with the intent to help adolescent boys who displayed sexually abusive behavior. Sexual abuse is a generational cycle that can often be difficult to break. Ending the cycle is the goal of Generations Group. By providing a structured and secured group home setting with a warm welcoming environment, Generations Group looks to help neglected or at risk adolescent and preadolescent boys overcome abusive behaviors and allow them to become successful and responsible citizens.

“Generational sexual abuse is a hard reality that no one likes to face,” Andy said. “That’s why the work of nonprofits like Generations Group is so important; it destigmatizes this truth and allows for its victims to recover rather than be further neglected. It’s an honor to get to work with such a great program.”
