Moorman graduated from Furman University in 1998 and then earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 2001. He spent a year as a Law Clerk for The Honorable John C. Few, then a South Carolina Circuit Court Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit. He then worked at a private practice for two years.
Most notably, Moorman spent ten years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the United States Attorney Office in the District of South Carolina. During this time, he investigated and prosecuted drug trafficking organizations operating in the United States and internationally, and prosecuted white collar crimes, money laundering crimes, public corruption, and firearms offenses. He was also the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and Lead Organized Crime and Drug Task Force Enforcement Attorney.

“I’m honored to have been named a Legal Elite of 2020,” Moorman said, “I’ve worked hard for this recognition, and am very grateful to those who nominated me for it.”
